I have attended Rational Quality Management Center and Rational Performance Tester training which was held in Applabs, GEC by IBM folks. I find some things to be interesting in both of the tools. As part of Performance, I find RPT tool to be a good one but certainly has some limitations, in this tool there are definitely some good things covered as part of analysis, say for eg. Response Time Break-up on all the Layers which is a very good feature because I see none of the Performance Testing tool in the industry does this. Drawbacks are; it doesn’t support IIS, they were saying that they will support it in their next release and also another toughest thing which I found is managing the Script Framework, probably the guy who have given the demo doesn’t have much knowledge on the tool, which I feel should be explored.
And one good news to all, probably for the guys who are most interested in attending IBM Rational Software Conference 2009 (RSDC) which is going to be held on 11th of Aug in Taj Banjara. Hyderabad.
You need to pay a registration fee of 1000/- and for getting certified on any rational tool(need more clarity on which tool’s they are talking about) they are charging a very nominal amount i.e. 500/- and eligible to take the exam for 2 times.
